This the mural that is mounted above our circulation desk. Commissioned in 1975, it's part of the city's public art collection and visitors come to view it and photograph it all the time. The kids love it, they comment on it all the time. The artist still lives in the neighborhood and has taught classes to kids on how to create murals at the library.

It's a very striking mural, I can see why people are drawn to it and it's totally awesome that the artist lives in your community. The teens from my library just created a mural for the library as part of a service learning experience. Mural projects are great for bringing people together!!
